I love this photo. I spent a day with these year nine students teaching them how to create a basic seascape painting as part of the Sheldon College Professional Incursion Program. In a few short hours we covered the basics and students achieved great results with just one coat of acrylic paint. Many of the students continued on with their paintings over the next few days. Once the basic workflow is set out, the painting process is a lot of fun

Well Scott, I have to say, since I first fell in love with painting I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on books, workshops, online art courses etc, and nothing has come close to the standard of instruction you have provided in your course.
At last I have a template which I can follow and which I know will give me the results I have always struggled to find. I am just blown away by the amount of information you have shared. So rare, as most artists selling this information don’t really get down to the nitty gritty, leaving you much where you were at the start – unsatisfied, and searching for answers. The clincher for me was your bonus ‘start to finish’ demos. I have learnt more from your course in the past few days than I did in the last 30 years. I’m a beginner and have been teaching myself through youtube tutorials using acrylics. I’ve learnt a lot but not enough to make me feel confident i could just do a painting on my own. Such an open and honest account of a ‘real’ life in the art world. I am a regular 39 year old guy who plays sport, works and has a young family. But I also LOVE art and painting is a huge passion. Scott’s videos have shown me how to become a better artist, but more importantly have shown me how to push myself in the ‘right’ directions. I have already re-watched as I’ve painted the different elements of my newest seascape. Great, easy to follow instructions and demonstrations. I bought the full Paint The Ocean course in January 2019, went through most of it then but life kept interfering. Finally with so much downtime during the Corona pandemic, I purchased the Summer Nights course and eagerly went through it. I’ve just gone back over aspects of Paint the Ocean and am now more than keen to jump in. These courses are incredible and Scott has a comfortable and easy way of teaching and explaining his techniques. If you think you might like to paint or paint better, don’t keep thinking about it. At last!! Ready for all the HELP and advice i can get from you Experts on the course. I am used to piling on the paint and lots of texture like with palette knife work so this painting has been a huge challenge. And silly me used a 36 inch by 60 inch canvas?? Perfect title, although I know I will apply what I’ve learned to many things.
I am following the advice given, and watching it all through first. I have just finished watching the course itself, with just the two full painting videos to go. I am most impressed by the amount and depth of the information the course contains. Right down to which paper Scott uses for his work sheets, or all about art licensing. Products he tried, and what is too expensive, the lot. I know I will be able to apply Scott’s methods to paintings of many different subjects, and I am feeling confident about where I am going from here. I studied art at both TAFE and uni, but I never felt as sure about the work as I do right now. I learnt about making the art, but never about the next step. I am so pleased I found ‘Paint the Ocean’, I feel like it will make a big change for me.

My wife was introduced to Scott’s work while filming an episode for The Great South East (Now called Great Day Out on Chanel 7) and we bought 2 pieces.
His lovely family delivered them to our home. I have followed Scott’s work ever since and am amazed how he creates his beautiful pieces… like me , Scott is a family man and has managed to successfully build a career out of his artistic talents and developed a loyal following of fans. He is truly an asset to the tapestry of the home-grown Queensland art scene who takes pride in being local. The key words I’d use to describe his work are soulful and captivating, because to me his paintings capture a soft breeze blowing through a pandanus tree …And the smell of the ocean. Not many people can do that with their art, I’m a big fan.

Reminded me of holidays, and family memories in the ocean
I first met Scott nearly 10 years ago.
Having been a local SE Qlder all my life, his artwork reminded me of holidays, those first steps on the beach in the morning and so many family memories in the ocean. I became a instant fan and have continued to follow Scott’s work ever since now owning many of his his originals and print pieces.
In recent years, I have got the chance to have many a chat to Scott and always love it when his van, surf boards piled in the back with his artwork, arrives in my driveway to deliver me another memory to hang on the wall! …An round great family bloke and magnificent artist. Found the course very thorough and detailed. I use acrylics and panel board , which is probably a no no , however it is a hobby , and as I am in my mid 80s , and this is my first lesson as such . Scott’s got a real creative gift
This painting just really captures the whole essence of the coastal area and its relaxed spirit.
We’ve put it up in our beach house at Byron Bay and it just embodies the spirit of Byron so beautifully. It’s a gorgeous painting to look at and we couldn’t resist buying it.
